Programs

Learn To Row
The Learn To Row Program is geared to beginners who have never rowed. A grounds-up approach in a comfortable atmosphere will have you rowing in no time. A huge part of rowing is “Team Work”, so remember you are not alone in learning this sport. We encourage you to join up with a friend, meet new friends and give rowing a try.

The sport of Rowing takes time and dedication to establish great skills, but you do not need great skills to have fun. HGRRC strives to create a fun, educational, and social atmosphere, so that everyone feels welcome and enjoys themselves while learning the art of rowing.
Recreational Rowing
This program is aimed at novice rowers or members who want to enjoy rowing, without the full commitment to the training schedule of competitive programs. Focus is on the continued development of rowing techniques, fitness and fun. This program is for graduates of the Learn to Row program or those with previous rowing experience, who desire to continue to indulge in this low impact activity. This program takes place a few times a week and is a great way to join in the rowing camaraderie both on and off the water. Rec rowers have access to doubles, quads, and eights.
Adaptive Rowing
The Haldimand Grand River Rowing Club has a continued interest in an adaptive rowing program. The goal is to increase the accessibility of individuals to water sports, making our club inclusive for all. This ambitious club has been host to one of eight Adaptive Rowing clubs across Canada. HGRRC's focus for this program is to adapt the instruction and learning techniques to meet the needs of individuals, rather than adapt the rowing equipment for this purpose.
